Open Cinema regularly hosts special events at cinemas and film festivals. Recent galas in West End cinemas have featured appearances from Palme d'Or winners Ken Loach and Mike Leigh, and Academy Award winner Sir Tom Stoppard.
St Stephen's Film Club Launch Night - A Fundraising Event with Ed Vaizey MP, Stephen Woolley, Toby Young and Open Cinema
On Thursday 27th January 2011, Open Cinema co-hosted a special fundraising event for the St Stephen’s Film Club in Shepherd’s Bush – the newest addition to our network of community cinemas.
Organised and hosted by the St Stephen’s Film Club, the event featured a panel debate on the question “Can cinema be an agent of change?”. Panelists included Minister for the Arts Ed Vaizey MP, BAFTA winning film producer Stephen Woolley, Bush Theatre director Josie Rourke, author Toby Young, and Open Cinema's Christoph Warrack.
